Allen Liu serves as Policy Counsel, Justice in Public Safety Project. Prior to joining LDF, Allen served as a law clerk to the Honorable Marisa J. Demeo on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
Allen received his J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. in Political Science and Social Sciences Interdisciplinary with Distinction from the State of New York University at Buffalo.
During law school, Allen served as a Note and Comment Editor of the Administrative Law Review and as a student attorney with the Criminal Justice Clinic where he represented juveniles serving life sentences in Maryland in post-conviction and parole proceedings. Allen was a recipient of the Washington College of Law Alumni Award for substantial contributions to student activities and to the progress of the law school. He also interned for the Honorable Gerald Bruce Lee (retired) on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Criminal Section.
Allen is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
