Allison Scharfstein

Allison Scharfstein is an Education Fellow with LDF. She graduated magna cum laude from New York University School of Law in 2021. During law school, Allison participated in NYU’s Civil Rights, Racial Justice, and Housing Law clinics. She also interned at LDF and in the Family Defense Practice of Brooklyn Defender Services. Allison served as the Co-Chair of NYU’s Education Law and Policy Society and as a Student Article Development Editor for the NYU Review of Law & Social Change. She is a recipient of the Vanderbilt Medal for outstanding contributions to the law school community.

Prior to law school, Allison taught middle and high school social studies for six years at a public school in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated magna cum laude from Yale University where she majored in American Studies.
