Brenda Wright

Brenda Wright joined LDF as Special Counsel for Litigation and Policy in May 2023. She has worked for over two decades to protect and advance the right to vote through litigation, policy development, research, and writing, with a focus on racial justice in voting rights. Her extensive experience in federal court litigation includes two arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court. Brenda has also testified before Congress on voting rights and democracy issues and has written on these subjects in both popular and scholarly publications. Before joining LDF, Brenda served in senior management for the democracy and litigation program at Demos from 2009-2023. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, where she previously served as Director of the Voting Rights Project, the Board of Directors of Common Cause Massachusetts, and the advisory board of the Prison Policy Initiative. She received her law degree from Yale Law School and her B.A. from Bryn Mawr College.
