Devin McCowan

Devin McCowan serves as a NYU Litigation Fellow at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF).

Devin received his J.D. from New York University (NYU) School of Law in 2023, where he was an Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties Fellow, and the Diversity and Membership Editor for the New York University Law Review. He also participated in the Civil Rights and Criminal and Juvenile Defender Clinics as well as serving as Co-Chair of OUTLaw and Public Interest Chair of BALSA. He was awarded the Leonard M. Henkin Prize for recognition for writing on the 14th Amendment, and the Vanderbilt Medal for distinguished scholarship and contribution to the law school.

While at NYU, he published a student note: The Jurisdiction-Stripping Consent Decree: A Practical Tool Towards Police Abolition, 98 N.Y.U. L. Rev. 2197 (2023).

Devin received his B.A. in Economics, French, and Interdisciplinary Gender and Sexualities Studies from Marquette University.

Admitted to practice only in New York.
