Kevin Jason

Kevin Jason joins the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. as Assistant Counsel.

Prior to joining LDF, Kevin served as a Staff Attorney for the New York Civil Liberties Union, where he investigated and litigated matters related to criminal law reform, education equity, and voting rights. Kevin most recently served as lead counsel in the monitoring process of Ligon v. City of New York, a lawsuit challenging the New York Police Department’s practice of patrolling privately owned apartment buildings. He has also been lead counsel in challenges to the use of force by school resource officers against students in Syracuse. Previously, Kevin served as a law clerk to the Honorable Steven M. Gold of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and to the Honorable Andrew L. Carter, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Kevin received his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he served as Associate Managing Editor and Projects Editor for the Stanford Law & Policy Review. He also earned an M.A. in Public Policy from Stanford University and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Columbia University.
