The National Equal Justice Award Dinner (NEJAD) is an event hosted by the Legal Defense Fund that honors individuals working to advance civil rights. The event also amplifies the litigation, advocacy, and education done by the Legal Defense Fund’s staff. Past recipients of the National Equal Justice Award include Stevie Wonder, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Sherrilyn Ifill, Bryan Stevenson, Marian Wright-Edelman, Lonnie Bunch, Harry Belafonte, Nina Shaw, and John Legend.
