“As we commemorate the 70th anniversary of Brown v. Board, LDF applauds the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of 200 Biden-Harris administration appointed judges to the federal bench. LDF celebrates this historic confirmation that includes a record number of women—particularly Black women.

“The selection of professionally and demographically diverse jurists who are committed to the rule of law moves us closer to a justice system that reflects the lived of experiences of communities long excluded from full representation in our judiciary. Federal judges play a key role in protecting our democracy and making decisions that impact people’s everyday lives. We look forward to honoring the legacy of Brown v. Board by celebrating this important achievement.

“We urge the administration to continue to select and nominate, and the Senate to expeditiously confirm jurists committed to equal justice under the law that reflect the rich diversity of our nation and legal profession.”
